In Memories
Today doesn't belong to me.
I gave all, risked all
in a wager against great odds,
and I lost myself to you.
This life is not mine, now,
and all that is my own
is this dreadful sense of waiting,
waiting for the sun to rise,
waiting for your smile
to light my way again.
This course I chart in darkness
without your star to guide me.
Alone on this desolate sea,
I'm a dreamer chasing a dream,
a dream that's forever lost
yet still living, in vain,
in memories.
In your absence I exist,
a verisimilitude of life,
a random loop of programming
repeating, inanely repeating,
as if there were meaning
in its mathematic calculations.
There is none.
