Shadowed

 

Desert rain falls soft
onto the waiting ground,
and in that lonely sound
is my life's meaning.

One day brings another
until, too late, I discover
I have lost the reason
for all my dreams,

and I am caught up
in this world again,
shadowed by its darkness
here below.
